The place is actually kind of genius if you have a car, which we have. It’s a tiny village (2km long, I measured) in the middle of the island Pag, between two slightly larger coastal towns: Pag and Novalje. Haven’t seen Pag yet. Novalje kinda sucks at the first glance. Crowded beach resort, overtaken by peddlers of cheap touristy stuff and hordes of youngsters, some completely drunk at like 4pm. But it’s close enough for us to go shopping at a large-ish grocery store, so it serves its good purpose.
Kolan, our village, has a church, a school, something like a town hall (I doubt that’s what it is, but looks stately enough to be one), a clinic and the tiniest of shops that has fresh bread. And just enough sense in people driving through it that a jogger could survive their morning run (just barely, though).
Cheese seems to be everywhere – tried some, nice.
Chilling, so far. Yes, that’s the official title on this activity. Works fine for someone who literally never chills otherwise. Getting ready for some adventures, but not yet, let’s get acclimatised and all that.
